Hamburger SV

HSV stands for tradition, success and passion. Founded in 1887, it is now the third biggest sports club in Germany. HSV is the only football club to have constantly played in Germany’s first division since the Bundesliga began in 1963. The "Red Shorts" were German champions six times, won the DFB Cup three times and the League Cup twice. HSV’s international triumphs include winning the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1977 and the European Cup in 1983.

The club's home stadium is the Imtech Arena, one of the most modern football stadia in Europe, classed as a Five-Star Stadium by UEFA, and with a capacity of more than 57,000. The hospitality areas consist of 50 corporate boxes offering up to 4,500 guests an exclusive setting for watching home games.

HSV also assumes social responsibility. Since the second half of the 2009/2010 season the club has run its stadium on green energy; emissions from the team’s travels are offset to make them carbon neutral.

The club has made a long-term commitment to the people of Hamburg with its “Hamburger Weg” sponsorship initiative, established in 2005. Its partners include various businesses and the city council.
